Default Hero Feedback and Suggestions (and minor glitches)

Heroes are a great little toy and can bring great fun to the game. There are however one or two things that could be greatly improved and would result in even more fun. I've basically only two suggestions but i'd appreciate it if the community would add many more.

1 st Suggestion:
Add a "Do not use this skill until further notice" function.
It could work as the following, as you're probably aware you can issue commands to your hero to use a certain skill as soon as it is ready and the hero can do that. This is great. But, there should be a function where you can tell a hero to NOT use a certain skill until you tell him to do so.

A good example would be:
Give Koss Healing Signet and Frenzy and watch him die asap.
He uses Frenzy whenever it is ready (sort of like Dunham with Distortion) and then uses Healing Signet in the midst of battle regardless of his frenzy. He will even go as far as to re-activate it if you tell him to use another stance.

Ugh.
So the suggestion is:

No click on skill - use at will (as it currently is)
1st click on skill - use asap (as it currently is)
2nd click on skill - do not use until further notice (the improvement)
- a right click on the skill then activates it asap but leaves it in the do not use state.
3rd click on skill - see no click on skill

2 nd Suggestion:
Make Heroes a part of the party.
This is probably only something the support and healer classes will have noticed. Currently the only real way to target a hero for healing is to use the mouse. This is for some players that primarily use their keyboard for playing (like me) quite distractive and annoying. And even more of a problem, the heroes currently mess up the order in the party.

To furthermore explain the problem at hand:
You are a keyboard freak. Let's assume you're just like me and have assigned the 12 party slots to your numpad.

1 - First party member
2 - Second party member
3 - Third party member
etc etc

During all of Guildwars, this is never a problem. If you either invite Henchmen or humans, the party order never changes and thus the assignment stays this way. As in:

1 - Yourself
2 - Dunham
3 - Alesia
4 - Mhenlo
5 - Cynn
6 - etc etc etc

But with the addition of heroes, this system gets totally out of control. Every hero of course occupies a bar on the party screen. But they do not count as party members. This results in:

1 - Yourself
X - Koss
X - Melonni
2 - Henchmen

So basically this means that if you hit 4 toselect your fourth party member (like the bars suggest and like it has allways been) nothing happens. You have to select party member 2 to select your henchmen. This problem gets even worse with another human player in the party and his personal henchmen to a point the whole Target Party Member thing is utter chaos.
Plus there currently is no way to assign a key to heroes (would be damn hard to implement anyways). This means everyone playing with a keyboard now must play with a mouse. Ugh.

The suggestion? Make heroes count as party members so it's like this
1 - Yourself
2 - Koss
3 - Melonni
4 - Henchmen

(1 to 6 are examples of the "Target Party Member x" Functions you can assign in the control tab)
Problem solved.

Any more suggestions and feedback about the heroes? Minor flaws and glitches that could use a fix? Post them here as i have not found another thread about Heroes with tthis certain topic of improving control and handling.

I'm surprised more people haven't brought this up (this was the only thread that came up when I did a forum search for "targeting heroes" so apologies if it was mentioned elsewhere). I'd been playing with a Dervish for most of the preview and, as you mentioned, didn't notice this as I wasn't playing healing or support. But I took a Paragon out this morning and noticed this right away. IMO this is a really important issue with Heroes that should be resolved somehow. The easiest solution would be to make them part of the party, as you suggested.

And more control is always a good thing so another /signed for a "do not use this skill" option (though that is apparently being discussed in a newer thread already)

A few other minor suggestions/ideas regarding Heroes:

- Action keys to open Inventory and the Skills & Attributes windows directly under Hero slots 1, 2, or 3 instead of having to open under your character and then selecting the Hero. Not a big deal but I'm assuming this wouldn't be too difficult to add and it'd be nice to have the option.
- The current name of the [H]ero window is a little outdated now that the game will have Heroes. Again, not a big deal. I'm just wondering if it might cause some initial confusion; particularly with new players.
- More of a suggestion regarding the Flag system but, unless I missed one, the 4 Flag options were for Henchmen & Heroes, Hero 1, Hero 2, and Hero 3. It'd be nice to have a Flag for just Henchmen only. If you were henching with Heroes this would allow you to evenly split your party. Another Flag could be added for all Heroes so you didn't have to place 3 separate Flags in the event that you wanted to split off all your Heroes.

(besides agreeing with you on your points made, a moderator should probably merge the two hero threads or make a Collector's Thread of some sorts)

Well, after playing in the Preview event, and having a week to think about it, I have a few sugestions.

We need the option to have our heroes pick up items. It may seem wield, but it makes sense. I should be able to tell Koss to go and pick up a flag and put it in a flag-post. As well, it would be nice if I could tell Koss to pick up the gold sitting on the ground next to him (since gold is always shared between the party).

I found it somewhat annoying how I always had to be the one carrying a bundle item, or the fact that I had to go pick up the gold, even though Koss was standing right next to it.
